Below are a list of Tesla and EV frequently asked questions. If you have a question that's not in this area please contact us and we'll get back to you asap and the question may then get added to this FAQs page.
A. Email is our preferred method, as it allows us to review details properly. However, you’re also welcome to use our contact form or call us directly. If your vehicle is displaying a high-voltage or battery warning, we recommend contacting us before driving so we can advise whether it’s safe to do so.
A. Yes. We charge a flat-rate initial diagnostic fee of £25. This covers professional fault-code analysis and initial assessment using EV-specific diagnostic equipment. From here we can advise the next steps to repair
A. In many cases, battery repair is possible and sensible. However, if a battery has multiple failed or damaged modules, repair may not be cost-effective. In these situations, we will always explain the reasoning and help source an alternative solution, such as a replacement battery using new or good-quality used components.
A. Not always. Some faults allow limited driving, while others can pose a safety risk. If your vehicle displays a battery, isolation, or high-voltage warning, contact us before driving. We’ll advise whether the vehicle should be driven or recovered.
A. Yes. We recommend keeping your vehicle software up to date. Software updates can improve system stability, fault detection, and compatibility with diagnostics. If an update may affect a repair or diagnosis, we will advise you accordingly.
A. A coolant delete is a preventative procedure carried out on certain Tesla power units to reduce the risk of coolant-related failures. It is not required on every vehicle and is only recommended where appropriate. The aim is long-term reliability, not modification for its own sake.
A. Yes. We specialise in out-of-warranty electric vehicles. This includes owners who want an alternative to main dealer repairs and those planning long-term ownership.
A. Yes. We offer out-of-warranty EV pre-sale inspections, particularly for Tesla vehicles. This helps buyers understand the condition of the battery, drive unit, and high-voltage systems before purchasing a used electric vehicle.
A. Our approach is based on sustainability and engineering reality. Electric vehicles require significant resources to manufacture, including precious and rare earth materials. Where safe and practical, repairing and extending the life of existing vehicles is better for the environment and the owner than unnecessary replacement or scrappage.
A. Yes. We regularly see customers from across the UK. Many EV repairs take more than one day, so transporting or delivering the vehicle to us is often the most practical option, depending on the repair required.
